    Hi

    Thanks for your reply.

If you reset your PC and the problem still exists, you can try to completely reset your PC and check whether the problem disappears.

Before a complete reset, back up the data and data in your system disk to prevent loss.

    Hi

    Thanks for your reply.

If you have used multiple methods and the problem persists, you can use the system reset function (keep your files) to check if the problem has recovered.

Regarding your second question, you can click this link to do Office Fix and then reopen Office Check.

Looking forward to your good news.

unfortunately not. I have Windows 11 but I managed to go to Windows Repair, troubleshooters, etc. but nothing could help.

I couldn't find the "startup pack" and using the Task Manager didn't help because there is a huge number of processes going but none that I could somehow

associate with the ini file error.

Sorry for taking up your time but I really appreciate it and being 75 years old I can do with all the help I can get.

please allow me to as another question which is even more annoying. every time I open a Word document I get a popup which asks me to logon to Word. I thought I could use my MS credentials but it doesn't accept any passwords and there is no "Forgot Your Password" link to reset it, although I suspect this is not the problem.

Once again please forgive me for taking up you time.

    Hi

    Has your problem been solved?

Your popup rate is probably caused by the startup program configuration corruption. You can disable it or delete it by finding it in the startup item's bar.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask at any time, and I will continue to help you.

    Hi

    Welcome to Microsoft community.

    I'm glad to help you.

If your problem occurs when you start the computer, this pop-up window is related to your startup program.

To better identify your problem, what is your current version of Windows? Win10 or win11?

If it is win10, you can right-click the task bar, click and open the task manager, and find your startup program in the startup bar. Right click Disable the program you need to check whether the problem disappears.

If you use win11, right click the Windows icon on the desktop taskbar, click Task Manager, and find the corresponding location to disable your startup program.

The cause of this problem is probably that your startup program is damaged for some reason.

Feel free to ask back any questions and let us know how it goes. I will keep working with you until it's resolved.

    Best regards
