I purchased a new Printer, and for it to work properly, it has to be installed by HP Smart and to use the Instant Ink it has to be set up with WIFI. I have centurylink Broadband, but when I first tried to set up my printer with HP Smart, it could not connect. Tried 3 times, then uninstalled the HP Smart and Re-Installed from Microsoft Store. Still no help. All HP Smart does is give me a white screen with a circle search going on in the center. I also checked my WIFI, and it is working fine. So without HP Smart I also cannot Scan to Computer with the Printer. Temporarily I have the Printer now set up with USB, but that is not an acceptable solution when I cannot get all functions to work on the Printer without HP Smart. HELP.

After like 4 hours doing all you suggested here, this is my end result. I thought it was all set until I tried to sign up for instant ink and I have added that error here. And now I cannot print from anywhere and can't scan. So how do I get off HP Smart and back to USB. I would rather be able to at least print with USB, but can't do anything now.
Dear Ruth2340,initially I recommend that you make the pending update on Windows Update;
In Optional quality update click Download and Install;
Use the Dell SupportAssist app to update laptop drivers:
https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-us/product...
Uninstall the HP Smart app;
Access the Microsoft Store again and download the Hp Smart app;
Follow the instructions provided in the link below:
https://support.hp.com/ie-en/drivers/selfservic...
If the problem still persists, use the HP Print and Scan Doctor app for Windows to fix installation and driver issues;
Hope this helps, see you soon!
