[RESOLVED] No networks appearing under wireless networks; computer cannot identify wireless networks at all (Windows 10)

Today my Windows 10 computer is suddenly unable to connect to the internet at all. When I click on the internet button in the bottom righthand corner, the only option available is Network & Internet Settings and Airplane Mode (which is turned off). All the other options are missing and I cannot see any available networks at all. I have not made any major changes to the computer.

So far I've tried the following:

  • Restarting my wireless router and my computer (all my other devices are currently connected to the network except for the computer)
  • Troubleshooting via the Windows troubleshooting feature (I keep getting the answer "There might be a problem with the driver for the Wi-Fi adapter," but when I click on "Try These Repairs As Administrator" I keep getting the response "not fixed")
  • Ensured that, in the Network And Sharing Center Advanced Settings, the option "Turn on network discovery" is selected, with the "turn on automatic setup..." checkbox selected (issue still persists)
  • Tried the option "set up a new connection or network" (I get the response "Windows did not detect any networking hardware)
  • Tried updating the network adapter drivers in Device Manager (I got the response "Windows has determined that the best driver for this device is already installed")
  • Tried a network reset (it seemingly did nothing at all)

After all this, I still am unable to detect any wireless network at all despite being able to do so on other devices. What else can I do to get my issue resolved?

Edit: I managed to resolve the issue by following these steps:

I went to Device Manager, found the Network Adapters option and clicked on the arrow to expand.

Next, I went to the option that was my computer's Intel wireless adapter, right-clicked and selected "Uninstall Device".

Then, a warning popup appeared saying I am about to uninstall the device from my system. I clicked the uninstall button. Please note that I did NOT check the box next to "Delete the driver software from this device".

Finally, I restarted the computer. Once I rebooted, I had the option to log onto my wireless network again!

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

I am glad to know that your problem has been solved on its own, it seems that the Intel driver was corrupted itself and you found the right solution to reconfigure it.

If you have any further questions that you need help with, you are welcome to submit them to the Microsoft community again.

If anything is unclear, please do not hesitate to let me know.

    Best Regards,
