I am still running a very very old Dell laptop (probably around 2005 vintage) with Win XP in order to keep going with a fantastic home & small business software called Quicken. It is great for personal financial records, tax calculations, share and mutual fund tracking, budgets etc. I originally had the 1994 UK version, upgraded to the 1998 UK version and was sent a free Y2K update just in case. I came across an unused 2003 version when clearing an old office in London but the key does not work and there is no longer any support to fix that problem (despite my best efforts across numerous forums).
The Dell laptop no longer has a functioning battery nor cooling fan so may need to be retired sooner rather than later.
Win7 had a set of downloadable MS tools to be able to run XP applications - sadly Win11 does not appear to provide this facility.
I am gradually migrating applications and transferring data from both the Dell XP laptop and an HP850 Win7 laptop and would appreciate any advice or help in setting up Virtual Mode to run Quicken
