Good morning.

I have been using MS RD Client successfully on my iPad for quite some time.
Yesterday I upgraded to the latest iOS version (13.6.1) and now things no longer work.
Here is the issue.
I have a windows PC exposing a private network without internet connection.
The iPad Is connected to this network.
I start RD Client and try to connect to the windows pc, but the connection doesn’t even start and a message reporting the absence of network connectivity pops up from the RD client.
Ant idea why and how to solve this issue?
Before upgrading, the very same procedure worked seamlessly.

Thank you.

    Hi,
1.What is the version of the remote desktop client for ios?
Have you upgraded to latest or version 10.1.0 which addressed some issues for iPadOS 13.4 or later?

Yep, I have the same issue, for several months now.

Looks like it’s a IOS issue, not Microsoft.

Was remote login to a standalone Pc which was on a local WiFi network with no Internet access.

Now since this IOS upgrade it refuses to connect saying that the remote Pc does not network connectivity.

Something changed in the IP stack for that iOs upgrade. Basically if you connect to a local WiFi it only shows a WiFi status signal if that network has internet access.

So in other words since that IOS update, an Ipad is only allowed to connect to a Wifi network that have Internet, you can’t connect to a local stand-alone Wifi, even if it shows in available networks.

Highly annoying. The only solution to this is to give that local network Internet access if possible.

Interesting version if the issue at my end. I have new iPAD pro with mobile internet connection. Using mobile internet on the iPad RD client wont connect threough VPN, however if i connect to the same mobile network through the wifi hot spot on my phone connection works fine, deinfately seems to be a wifi related issue, RD client wont connect through a mobile network, only wifi. Other interesting note, RD client wont connect on the same phone which allows the iPad to connect!
