I cannot install Whatsapp on my computer anymore because apparently I own it. What could be the problem?

I recently uninstalled Whatsapp Desktop, and I wanted to install it again. But when I go to Microsoft Store to install it, it says "You own this app". Nothing happens when I click the install button and my mouse cursor changes into a "no entry" symbol. I'm using Windows 10.

    Hi Den,

    Thank you for the screenshot.

Did you re-install Windows on that PC, the version of Windows 10 installed is 16299, that is 5 yeas out of date.

To run WhatsApp, or most other apps, you will need a more up to date versions of Windows, and because your version is so old, it will not be possible, yo will need to create a new bootable Windows 10 USB and clean install Windows from that.

    Hi Den,

I am Dave, I will help you with this.

Open the Store App (not in a web browser)

At the bottom left, open your library to see all the apps you own, can you install WhatsApp from there?

    Hi Den,

That is a strange error to get, click your Start Button, then just type msinfo and press Enter, please provide a screenshot of the resulting System Information window.

    Hello Dave.

Here it is. It was a bit longer so I had to make two screenshots and patch them together:

    Hello again, Dave.

Yes, I did re-install Windows due to a recent Ransomware attack I suffered, but I had no idea it was 5 years out of date!
Well, I think I know how to solve this now. I will either have to buy a recent Windows 10 disc, or I will need a virtual disc like a .iso, .daa, .mdf, etc., am I correct?

You've really been a big help, Dave, thank you very much!

    Hello Dave.

Thank you for getting back to me.

To answer your question, no. I was unable to. There is no 'install' button. Instead, there is an exclamation mark inside a circle, and when I hover my mouse cursor on it, it tells me, "WhatsApp does not work on this device" (where I indicated with a red line).
