    IMO, no, you don't need any other AV. You can rely on Windows Security and continue using it. Make sure you upgrade its update definitions regularly.

    I've been using nothing but defender for a long time (granted, I wouldn't call myself a novice user, but still) and I haven't had any issues with it. It runs smoothly in the background without slowing the system down too much or annoying popups, and just steps in when action is needed.
