AutoRun.inf Won't Auto Run (ON USB)

I am trying to create an autorun USB but the autorun.inf does not run when I plug the USB in. the code on the file is:

[AUTORUN]

Open=UsbData.BAT

Action=Start UsbData

I do not know why it fails to run as the .bat file is spelled correctly.

If anyone has suggestions that would be great.

Thanks!

    Hello Christopher,

    Thanks for your sharing, this will help others with the same problem and provide us with new thoughts to solve similar problems.

    Indeed, USB interface, as one of the most widely used data transmission ports, does bring great convenience to our daily use, but there are also some drawbacks. So for the security of user information and data, autorun is disabled for flash drives.

    If you have any other questions related to Microsoft products, you can post your question in the corresponding section of this forum and we will try our best to help you.

    Have a good day!

    I did more research and found autorun was disabled for flash drives because people had them download viruses. oh well :/.

    Hello Christopher,

    Good to see you in Microsoft Community.

    Firstly, could you let me know the specific system version? Please check it (you can display it by pressing the Win key + R key, and typing "winver", then press Enter), and only send the relevant information without PII in the next reply.

    You can turn on Allow devices to run automatically when plugged in in Windows Settings.

    If it still does not work, this question is out of scope for the Answers Support Community. The best place to get help is Microsoft Learn - Windows-11(microsoft.com), where is intended to support more advanced users.

    If anything is unclear, please do not hesitate to let me know.

    Best Regards,
