JBL Quantum 100 Headset microphone not detected by Windows

Hello! I'd like to ask for help regarding the problem stated in the title.

I just got JBL Quantum 100 headset, and when i connected it to my PC, the sound is okay but the mic is not working at all. It works fine on phone, but the same problems arise on my laptop (ASUS TUF Gaming A15). I already tried every solution i could find, but nothing helped. Didn't see anyone have the same problem as me. My laptop has Windows 11, and my PC has Windows 10. The microphone is separate from the headset, and it can only be plugged into the headset itself.

First issue is, when i plug in the headset, there's no pop-up window asking me what kind of device is connected, it immediately lists it as "Realtek High Definition Audio, Speakers" in the control panel. I couldn't enable this pop-up because i can't open Realtek HD Audio Manager. I tried solutions for this as well, still it's like the program doesn't exist on my PC, even though i found the .exe file. I'm not sure if this is part of the issue.

The PC does not detect the mic whatsoever, i tried troubleshooting, reinstalling every sound driver, connecting the headset to different audio jacks, it still doesn't work. In control panel, when i open "Sound", i see every device (even ones that are disabled or not connected), and this mic is not listed there. I have no other microphones connected to the PC. This is the same problem on the laptop as well.

I'm not sure what other information i can include. Please don't answer with basic things like "Are you sure it's not muted, are you sure the wire is not broken?" Yes i am sure. I'm not that stupid. If anyone could give some valuable information on this, I'd be really grateful.

    Thanks for the clarifications.

From your PC's motherboard specs, it looks like your PC's microphone and headphone connectors are separate.

I can see from the pictures that on the rear panel, the connectors are separated. But on the front panel, it depends on the case. But usually, PCs also have these connectors separated on the front panel.

If on the front panel, the connectors are also separated, you will need to use a P3 Female to P2 Male adapter to use this headset on this PC.

With this adapter, the signal will be separated into two P2 connectors. One for the headphone and one for the microphone.

Feel free to ask back any questions.

    Hello, thanks for replying!

It has a single 3.5 mm jack connector, with three white lines. The microphone has a 2.5 mm jack connector with one white line.

Here's the screenshot of the system information.![](https://learn-attachment.microsoft.com/api/attachments/4ed7a13b-a475-4169-a46b-f3e2a71587dc?platform=QnA

Hi. I'm David, and I'm happy to help you.

I checked the specs of this headset but couldn't find what type of connector it has. From the pictures, it seems to be a single jack connector P3 (three black or white lines). Is this correct?

What is the manufacturer and model of your PC?
