How to share USB License Dongle over network?

How do you share a USB License/Security Dongle, over a network?

So that PC-1 has a Security USB Dongle (License) connected to it and I would like PC-2, PC-3, PC-4, to all be able to access the license on the Dongle that is connected to PC-1.

The dongle only includes 1 license, but I'm hoping that by connecting them all to the same network and sharing folder, we don't have to keep passing the USB Dongle back and forth.

    Paul,

    It is a small business, so I am the IT Department :)

    We have to take turns using the software, because there is only 1 license, I just wanted to see if there was a faster way to share that 1 license, without buying a 3rd party USB over network. Or Virtual USB sharing software.

    Yes the license is on the USB Dongle and it is a business environment.

    [Side Note: We use several other programs/softwares that require licenses, and all the computers are linked to a main computer with the other licenses on them and that is how we access the other licenses for our other programs.]

    This USB Dongle/license is for a new software, and is the first time we have worked with a USB Dongle/license.

    I understand that we can only have 1 active user at a time, but it is very annoying having to physically pass the USB back and forth, when we are in different rooms/stations.

    This will be best consulted with the IT Team/Department for where you work for as they can give you options that will be suitable for what you need as we do not want to alter anything and this is to avoid further issues as well.

    If that dongle is for the activation/licensing of 3rd party software installed on your PC, it is not possible to chare that dongle, it will only work on one PC at a time, that is a restriction set by the 3rd party software developer.
