Lower part of the screen is black on my laptop

As said in the question, the lower part of my screen turns black. Screenshots are fine but what I see is the bottom 10% of the screen is black

I encountered this problem a lot specially when I turn on my laptop.

I found a lot of forums asking the same question but I haven't found a fix on any of them yet.

I also found 2 temporary fixes, putting any white color on the bottom of the screen fixes it (opening settings since it has a white background works) while dark colors triggers it (opening applications that have a dark background like discord). After a few minutes of exposure to light colors it will return to normal but the problem will return after restarting. Another solution is to lower refresh rates, but I already done this a few times that my 144Hz laptop now runs on 100Hz and I don't want to go any lower. Going back to Higher refresh rates worsens the black part of the screen.

If it helps my laptop is a ROG Strix G531GT with these specifications

Device name LAPTOP-IK9ESM67

Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-9300H CPU @ 2.40GHz 2.40 GHz

Installed RAM 4.00 GB (3.86 GB usable)

Images of the screen

A bit of a note these images are from 7 months ago on a Windows 10 which still happens to this day

    Hi Shibb,

I'm Dyari. Thanks for reaching out. I will be happy to assist you in this regard.

To double-check whether the issue is a hardware or software-related issue, kindly restart your computer and boot into BIOS. If the issue still persists, it means the issue is hardware related and it is best to take it to a reliable maintenance shop.

Or, you can start your computer in Safe Mode:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/sta...

If the issue is not available in BIOS, uninstall the graphics card driver completely using the DDU free tool:

    https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-dr...

Then, install the latest driver provided on the manufacturer's website and see if the issue still persists or not.

Please do not hesitate to ask if you need further assistance.

    Stay safe
