I am trying to map a network drive. When asked for the pin, I type in the pin and get this error message,

"SERVER is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions.

We can't sign you in with this credential because your domain isn't available. Make sure your device is connected to your organization's network and try again."

I am only on a LAN and my company doesn't use a domain. Just trying to get two computers to see each other's files.

P.S. all computers are brand new and dont have any group policies or anything active to keep them from gaining access.

    Hello, paul wisrepairs.com

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

Have you tried creating a new administrator account in Windows (See the steps in Create a local user or administrator account in Windows - Microsoft Support) and mapping the network drive with this account? Maybe you just need administrator privileges to complete the mapping.

If you are connecting to a drive in your company's network, you can also contact the administrator in your company to handle this issue. Although you say your company doesn't use a domain, there may still be some restrictions preventing you from mapping.

If you still don't see a solution, then this issue is beyond the scope of the problems that Microsoft Community can help. The best place to get help is Microsoft Q&A, which aims to support more advanced users like you. You can raise specific scenarios and share your idea to help solve the problem in windows-11 - Microsoft Q&A.

I won't be able to help further if the issue isn't fixed, but I'll leave this thread open in Microsoft Community in case that one of our volunteers has ideas for you.

Feel free to let me know if you have other concerns.

    Best regards
