Function Keys Wont Work. Seemingly Unfixable. Please Help.

I have tried many troubleshooting steps for this issue, and nothing seems to work. I feel as if it's the functions themselves that do not work. F12 works, but only as an enter key with CTRL+ESC+F12. I can't use functions with onscreen keyboard or PowerToys either. Windows doesn't have keyboard drivers for my computer on their website. I have updated the drivers that exist and even uninstalled them. I can't access bios as the keys don't work. I don't have a function lock. This makes me feel as if it's a physical issue, but then why would F12 work? I can't even assign my Logitech mouse's programmable buttons to those functions. I really just want to be able to make my keyboard light up again. Please help!

    Hi Liam Davis1,

I am Dave, I will help you with this.

The actions associated to the Function keys is controlled by the PC manufacturer, because the actions vary from PC to PC.

If a Function key is not working, try pressing the Fn key + a function key?

If it does, try pressing Fn + Esc to turn off the Function Lock.

If that does not solve the problem, check in BIOS if there is a setting to switch between Function and Media keys.

If not, click your Start Button, then just type msinfo and press Enter, please provide a screenshot of the resulting System Information window.

As I mentioned, function lock is not the issue. I cannot access BIOS as the keys aren't working except in very specific cases.

Again, I cannot enter BIOS as these keys only work in very specific instances.

    Hi Liam,

If you are unable to boot into BIOS, do you have access to another keyboard to test if the function keys are working on that keyboard?
