Booting up pc first time/ installing windows

Before starting this I knew NOTHING about pc’s but I finally got done building my first pc and tried starting it up. Entering the bios I could see the M.2 ssd was detected, but not able to be used as a bootable device. Looking online for input I had found to my very little understanding that the M.2 would not be a bootable device until windows is installed onto it. Following the steps suggested I have tried disabling/enabling fast boot, csm support, secure boot and my boot option priorities. I would restart my pc with the windows usb plugged in with no success. M.2 is the only storage device. Couldn’t find anything with the right solution anywhere else. Anything im missing/suggestions would be great!

Hi greg, thanks for the help! It turns out the usb I was using was faulty. But now I have one more problem I can’t seem to figure out. My bluetooth worked at first but was very static, so trying to fix it by choosing a different usb slot stopped it from working completely. In device manager, the bluetooth drivers I have seem fine, but I have something called generic bluetooth adapter which is getting an error code 31. It says I have the right drivers but they won’t install.
