Lenovo Legion 5 pro with AMD: Random Stuttering Problem

Hello Since I bought my laptop I have been suffering from random stuttering problems, I have asked Lenovo how to fix this problem, but no success, as a last resort I changed from windows 11 to windows 10 but the problem persists. In some forums they told me that, in some cases, windows and amd present this type of problem due to the new ftpm protocol, and that I should deactivate it, but I don't know if this is prudent or will only make my situation worse. Is there any truth in what they told me?

Hello Nicole, thank you very much for answering.

I also thought about hardware problems, using the manufacturer's own tools I did the tests corresponding to all the laptop's hardware, however no malfunction was shown, this was later confirmed by Lenovo's own technical service.

Finally I used a software called latencymon which indicated problems with power management, recommending to disable the CPU throttling setting in the control panel and in the bios.

I don't really know what this means, but if it's any help then I'll give it a try.

    Hi Alvaro

You can try to disable power throttling settings both in control panel and BIOS.

Hi, I’m Nicole, an independent advisor and a Windows user like you. I’ll be happy to help you out today.

I'm sorry that you are experiencing this issue, and I will try my best to assist you with this so that you find a satisfactory solution.

As far as I know, FTPM protocol doesn't mostly cause stuttering. Usually, stuttering is caused by hardware issues especially since you have already cleaned installed Windows. This might be caused by the drive where Windows is installed, the CPU, or the built-in GPU of the system.

If you have a warranty on the product, I suggest claiming it so you can have a replacement.

    Thank you,

    Nicole
