Event 55 Kernel-Processor-Power (Microsoft-Windows-Kernel-Processor-Power) - Stuttering/Lag in Halo MCC

I have been dealing this issue for quite some time. I'm not sure if it is a network/isp, hardware, or a software problem.

Can anyone tell me why I am getting these events?

Event 55 (47): Kernel-Processor-Power

"Processor 5 in group 0 exposes the following power management capabilities:

Idle state type: ACPI Idle (C) States (2 state(s))

Performance state type: ACPI Collaborative Processor Performance Control

Nominal Frequency (MHz): 3701

Maximum performance percentage: 140

Minimum performance percentage: 46

Minimum throttle percentage: 15"

*note: I am getting this event 12 times every time I turn on my computer. Where it says maximum performance = 140, that is the highest number out of all of the events. They all vary a bit.

I am also getting an event related to my ethernet NIC.

Warning, Event 27: e2fexpress

"Intel(R) Ethernet Controller I225-V

Network link is disconnected."

There are other events such as "WLAN-AutoConfig"

I was having the same problems and different events on Windows 11 and did a repair installation which downgraded me to Windows 10 and my game is still having problems. I've tried doing playing in a clean boot, all my drivers are up to date, my bios is up to date, I reset all bios settings after switching to Windows 10, and the problems happen on both ethernet and wifi. I am using a good quality cable and am connected directly to a verizon g3100 router. Speedtests show I get 1gbps download speed. Windows is up to date.

My pc specs are:

Asus Rog Strix B550i-gaming motherboard

AMD Ryzen 5600X cpu

Asus tuf 3070 ti

32gb 3600mhz Gskill ram

And I'm playing on an m2 ssd.

Hi, upon checking and analyzing the event logs you have, there is a significant error with Kernel-Processor-Power, which means there is an error with the processor itself, this might happen when the processor is overheating or getting low power from the motherboard or in the power supply, in this case, I highly suggest contacting a local technician to re-apply thermal paste and check for hardware-related issues, in addition, kindly do the steps below to optimize the device and if the same issue, the next step is by going to a local technician to check.

Method 1. Run system file checker.

On Powershell(admin), copy, paste and enter each command below:

    sfc /scannow

    Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth

    Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth

    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Once done restart the PC and check.

    Method 2. Do clean boot:

A “clean boot” starts Windows with a minimal set of drivers and startup programs, so that you can determine whether a background program is interfering with your game or program.

    • In the search box on the taskbar, type msconfig and select System Configuration from the results.
    • On the Services tab of System Configuration, select Hide all Microsoft services, and then select Disable all.
    • On the Startup tab of System Configuration, select Open Task Manager.
    • Under Startup in Task Manager, for each startup item, select the item and then select Disable.
    • Close Task Manager.
    • On the Startup tab of System Configuration, select OK. When you restart the computer, it's in a clean boot environment.

Method 3. Run memory diagnostic tool: Memory diagnostic tool is a RAM test to check if there is any issues with RAM.

    • Press Windows key + R then type in mdsched.exe hit OK then restart the device.

Sure thing, tomorrow around this time I will provide that.

And yes, I can use my computer otherwise for the most part. I record in-game clips using OBS and lately the videos turn out with constant stutter so I'm not sure why that has begun happening.

My motherboard has the I225-V(3) Intel ethernet chip that is known to have problems. I can only get ethernet to work if I use an older driver. If I update that driver my ethernet no longer functions at all. It seems to be a very common issue and it's interesting to note that even the website for my motherboard only lists the older driver and not the newer driver that people say is problematic, even though it's a couple years old! They must know it's bugged. Luckily I am on the older more stable driver, but I'm not sure if my problems could still be a result of that ethernet chip. As I said in my post it happens on wifi too but I'm not sure if that's normal for gaming on wifi.

Thanks for the response I will reply with that info tomorrow.
