after booting up my laptop, the acer logo will appear but it will freeze after a few seconds. Even if I tried to use startup repair my laptop will freeze. I need to run it through bios shortcut in order for it to boot up properly. Can I use rufus to download other windows version? I only have a usb flash drive to put my windows.
My Acer Nitro 5 AN515-43 has 4.6gb hardware reserved my laptop is experiencing boot issues
I reinstall my windows using the installation media from Microsoft, it installed the 22h2 version but my bios version is 1.12 which only supports 20h2. After installing, my hardware reserved is now 4.6 GB (2.1 GB before). I looked up if it's related to the bios version and I found out that the bios version could mess with the hardware reserved and my laptop is experiencing boot issues. Can anyone here please help me with this windows issue?

2022-12-09T22:16:08+00:00 Hi again Lusho -
Try resetting the BIOS to defaults, after taking note in UEFI/BIOS setup the settings for UEFI (should be enabled), CSM or Legacy BIOS (should be disabled), and Boot Priority Order (should be Windows Boot Manager set first on UEFI install, Windows hard drive on CSM/Legacy). Report back any variation in these settings now.
If any of the following repair steps cannot be performed normally then try them in 1) Safe Mode with Networking (so you have internet) or 2) Safe Mode, accessed by one of the illustrated steps in this guide: https://winaero.com/how-to-boot-windows-11-in-s...
You will need to use your password to get into Safe Mode as a PIN is not accepted.
If this is not enough I will help you do repairs from the Repair Mode or bootable media: https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/2294-boot-a... using the Command Prompt, System Restore, Uninstall Updates button and other tools that will allow any of these repairs to be run from the WinRe repair mode or bootable media.
- Go over Windows using this checklist to make sure the install is set up correctly, optimized for best performance, and any needed repairs get done: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wiki...
Start with Step 4 to turn off Startup freeloaders which can conflict and cause issues, then Step 7 to check for infection the most thorough way, then step 10 to check for damaged System Files, and also Step 16 to test a new Local Admin account to replace yours which may be corrupted. Then if necessary continue with the other steps to go over your install most thoroughly.
- Update all drivers and BIOS/UEFI firmware from PC or motherboard maker's Support Downloads web page, using the full model number, Serial Number or Dell Service Tag on sticker.
Compare the latest drivers available for download with the ones presently installed in Device Manager reached by right clicking the Start button. Make sure you have the latest BIOS or UEFI firmware, Chipset, Display (Video), Sound, USB3, Bluetooth, Network and all other drivers, or else download and install the latest now.
Updating drivers from the Device Manager or Windows Update is rarely enough. The most basic thing we need to learn to maintain a PC is keep the latest manufacturer's drivers installed from their Support Downloads web page.
- If nothing else works then do the minor, non-destructive Repair Install which reinstalls Windows while keeping your files, apps and most settings in place, brings it up to the latest version and solves most problems.

2022-12-09T09:30:45+00:00 Hi Lusho.
That's a Windows 10 PC so Acer is going to need to support version updates going forward or their customers will be stuck with expiring versions. Have you spoken with Acer Support about this.
- If they told you this officially and you want to go back to the last supported version, there are older version media here: https://tb.rg-adguard.net/public.php. Burn to DVD using WIndows Image Burner or create bootable flash using one of the options here: https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/2376-create...
Then do this Clean Install following the illustrated steps in this link which include everything that works best in Windows 10: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wiki...
Keep in mind that more often than not a Clean Install of the latest version will fix most problems, so you might want to try that first.
- Otherwise what are the exact boot issues you're having? Have you tried running Startup Repair yet to check over the boot files? https://www.windowscentral.com/how-use-startup-...
You can also try the Bootrec and Rebuild BCD commands here:

- As to the increase in Hardware Reserved RAM here are some possible fixes to try:
