How to get a Canon Pixma MG5650 printer to work with a windows 11 computer

Hi I have a new computer from Geekom which already has windows 11 pro installed. I am having great difficulty in getting my Canon Pixma MG5650 printer to be recognized/ connected to the computer. The printer is working and for instance I can scan and print an A4 document but I cannot get it to connect and work with the computer. Previously with my old computer running Windows 10 I had no problem. I would appreciate any suggestions as to how I can get it to work. Thanks

    Hello Oddzon,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

I spent some time looking up the Pixma MG5650 on Canon's website, and I noticed that the printer is more than a decade old.

I speculated that the device might not support Windows 11, since I couldn't find a WIndows 11 driver on Canon's manufacturer website. I suggest that you check with Canon after-sales support to see if this device supports Windows 11. If yes, please ask them to provide you with corresponding drivers to download and install, and then confirm whether your printer device can work normally.

If they also tell you they don't have the right driver, then the device probably doesn't support Windows 11.

If anything is unclear, please do not hesitate to let me know.

    Best regards,
