If I open some apps, it turns my volume (occasionally) to 100%.

Hello, I have a problem with my computer. I have Windows 10 pro on my PC and it is brand new. Somewhere it is written that it is a problem between windows and drivers. Sometimes it happens to me when I open youtube/spotify from background. It's very deadly for my ears because I use headphones. :D

  • I've tried: Updating sound drivers, reinstalling sound drivers, downgrading sound drivers, another sound devices, every sound enhancement... (about everything in sound settings).
  • So I noticed that if I have the sounds settings open all the time, it doesn't happen (I don't want to have it open forever).
  • I have an ASUS PRIME B660M-K D4 motherboard.

I hope you can help me.

Good day! I'm Raniel. I understand your frustration regarding this issue and I'll do my best to help.

Just to clarify, did you make any changes to your machine before encountering this issue (like installing third party apps, recent updates, etc..)?

Can you also reset your sound settings:

    1. Click on the Windows icon and go to Settings > System > Sound
    2. On the right pane of the Window, look for "Advanced sound options" and click on "App volume and device preferences"
    3. Scroll down and click on "Reset"
    4. Once done, perform a clean boot and see if you'll encounter the same issue: https://support.microsoft.com/help/929135/how-t...

If that didn't work, kindly perform the additional methods on this article to troubleshoot sound issues on your machine:
    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/452028...

However, if the issue persist, I suggest that you do a repair install of your Windows which fixes the broken system files on your machine. Here is a guide: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/for...
There should be no worries in performing it since you will select the option to keep your files during the process.

I hope this helps. Good luck!

Thanks for your advice! It was a problem with armoury crate. So I uninstalled it and now I listen without fear of my ears. Sellner
