Desktop.ini files

Desktop.ini files are used to change the folder icon. I have 2 computers that share a NAS, and the Icon I use for finished projects works fine on the NAS, and sometimes on both computers. The INI are set to hidden and read only. Here is my INI file data "[.ShellClassInfo] IconResource=C:\Windows\System32\SHELL32.dll,27 [ViewState] Mode= Vid= FolderType=Generic".

Why does it stop reading the ini or change the Shell32.dll,27 to a standard folder icon SHELL32.dll,4?

Where is it located, to tell Windows Explorer to look at the desktop.ini for instructions on how the folders are displayed?
