Windows 11 forcing me to set up a PIN

I have never used a pin to sign in to my computer, just my regular Microsoft/Outlook account password. Now when I do so, a window pops up telling me to create a pin. This just started a few days ago and it's really irritating. How do I stop this? Please no advice to create a pin. I don't want one.

    First do you have a school or work account set up on your computer? this may force windows hello features.

    I realise you asked for no advice to create a pin, however the easiest method is to create the pin and delete it later.

    1. Create the pin as demanded by Windows. and complete the login.
    2. go to settings -> Accounts -> Sign-in options
    3. turn off "For improved security, only allow Windows Hello sign-in for Microsoft accounts on this device"
    4. click on PIN(windows Hello) and remove the PIN.

    Hi Kevin,

    Please follow the steps below to disable the notification for setting up a PIN:

    • Please click start menu and type Windows Security and hit enter.
    • Under 'Account Protection' please click Dismiss.
      That should disable the PIN set up notification.

    Please let me know the result.

    Thank you,
    Christine

    Thank you again for trying to help, but there is no "dismiss" option or button when I tried that fix. I guess this is yet another MS bug that I will have just to live with.
