Is it possible to roll back SharePoint 2016 Cumulative updates?

SharePoint doesn't support VM snapshots in a farm configuration. There is no rollback of CUs. Only restoring databases from pre-CU installation to a new farm. This is why we really do need to test in a pre-production environment before applying major changes to the system.
