It appears that Windows 11 is not compatible with Garmin Express. I had Windows 10 and it worked fine, but when Microsoft upgraded me to Windows 11, it no longer works. I've deleted and reinstalled it several times. Maybe Microsoft can come up with some sort of patch. I cannot update my GPS anymore.
Garmin device not recognized in Windows 11
I have a Garmin Edge 820. When I bring up Garmin Express, it sees there is a new device to install, but when I click to add the device, Garmin Express can't find it. Garmin says they are unable to reproduce the problem. I have tried multiple USB cables and ports. I have uninstalled and re-installed Garmin Express multiple times over. I'm pretty much at my wit's end. Other than wiping the hard drive and doing a clean install of Windows 11, does anyone have any ideas?

2023-04-30T01:27:39+00:00 I am facing the same issue. I hate Windows 11 and Garmin should also have a fix for this problem.

2023-02-01T11:26:30+00:00 Hey Nicole. I finally got it working. The uninstall process is not complete, so when I was doing an uninstall/reinstall, things were left out there. So, I went on the C: drive and searched for and deleted any file or folder with GARMIN in the name. There were a lot of them! Then I went into REGEDIT and did the same. There were a couple of references to GARMIN still in the registry. I restarted and reinstalled Garmin Express, and voila! Now it is working.

2023-01-31T11:20:21+00:00 Nothing made any difference. Still not working. I was unable to run the sfc /scannow command. It said Windows Resource Protection could not start the repair command.
Here are screenshots of what is happening. Windows sees my Edge 820. Garmin Express even sees it initially, as you can see in this screenshot.
But when I click to actually add the device, Garmin Express never finds it as shown below. This all works just fine on a different computer, which is an older laptop running Windows 10.
