Hello Sunny. I'm Greg, here to help you with this.

    1. First make sure Edge is removed from all places where Startups hide, covered in Step 4 of this checklist:
      https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/for...
    2. Next try these fixes to turn off Edge running in background in Windows 10:

    https://www.ghacks.net/2019/02/11/block-microso...

    https://thegeekpage.com/block-microsoft-edge-fr...

    https://www.howtogeek.com/657604/how-to-stop-ba...

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4tDGgYuH8h4

This should minimize Edge using resources when it's not open.

If you want to express your opinion on this to Edge Developers you can choose the Edge Hub (three dots to right of URL address bar) then Help & Feedback, then Feedback form to fill out. They will not even see it here.

Feel free to ask back any questions. Based on the detailed results you post back, I will have other suggestions if necessary.

Thanks Greg, for some reason, all of your above suggestions are restricted to me; assuming Edge is in background even though Edge is still in Task Bar showing Tabs closed but listed in Task Manager.

Is there alternatives other than following to a end-user without admin right?

    1. Restart
    2. Request IT to do above for non-show-stopping issues when Restart works but at cost of lost work ?

    Is there help on following.

My questions with regards to Excel Web Freezing and Sync issue:

    1. As , how to select
      1. one of your steps? for
        1. Application failure

    Sunny -

Is this an organization you're part of? In that case you'll need to ask your system administrator or at our sister forums for IT Professionals, Q&A forums here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-US/answers/index.... as Microsoft Community is strictly an end-consumer forum.

Solutions we give here will conflict with the organization''s Group Policy which we do not use in consumer forums at all.

There are also equally good (and sometimes busier) 3rd party IT Pro forums here:

    https://www.techrepublic.com/forums/

    https://www.spiceworks.com/

    I hope it helps.
