Roblox ping spiking up in reds even with wired internet

Alright, I'm not too sure when this has started, but lately, my Roblox has been incredibly laggy every now and then. Please do not say its my internet and do not say its cause of my drivers. I have just now updated 10 drivers with Driver Easy. My pc has wired internet, its quite literally connected to the router in my house. The download Mbps is 850.45 and upload Mbps is 40.74. I am on the Roblox website and my search engine is Opera GX. Every other game I play on this pc plays perfectly. Its only Roblox always having a struggle with me. My ping tends to go 1000+ in some servers. Not only that, but Whenever I do join a server that has low pings, it is still possible for my games to spike up and freeze. Everything and everyone will just stay in freeze frame and then move. After that happens, that's when my ping starts to sky rocket. I will also add that its not my graphic settings since that doesn't change anything and/or closing out any other program that's NOT Roblox. To give you all more info, I've even went into games that have very low graphics and I STILL lag. If it helps, sometimes even the Network Receive would also just start to go from green orange and even to the reds.

Things I did:

  • Reinstall Roblox
  • Restarted my pc
  • Allowed Roblox to bypass my Windows Firewall Defenders
  • Made sure the appropriate ports are opened
  • Contacted Roblox themselves (only for the problem to still be in progress)

Its incredibly frustrating since it has NEVER done this before, ever since I have gotten my pc. Just one day it just decided to not work with me. If this has to do with my computer being the problem and not Roblox then I'll be pretty upset since replacing any parts on my pc can be a huge hassle. If anyone knows how to solve this or if anyone knows if this problems occurs because I had my one drive personnel closed since it started to run out of storage, please let me know.

Hi and thanks for reaching out. My name is Bernard a Windows fan like you and I'll be happy to help you out today.

This problem actually occurs when there is a problem with your internet configuration and driver, kindly follow the steps below and I hope this helps.

First what we will do is enable WWAN and WLAN services, these services are essential to run the Wireless and wired connection perfectly.

    • Open Services (Press Windows key + R then type in services.msc then click OK)

-Look for WLAN Autoconfig and WWAN Autoconfig> Right-Click Properties and set it to automatic (If it's already set to automatic, right-click then click stop then start it again)

    -Restart PC and check

If the issue persists, run the following command in Command Prompt (Admin). Follow the steps below to do so.

These sets of commands will reset the internet connection and re-calibrate the internet settings you have.

    Press Windows Key + X.

    Click on Command prompt (Admin).

Type the following commands, and hit Enter after each command:

netsh int tcp set heuristics disabled

netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled

netsh int tcp set global rss=enabled

    netsh winsock reset

    netsh int ip reset

    ipconfig /release

    ipconfig /renew

    ipconfig /flushdns

If the same issue follows the methods below:

    Do clean boot:

A “clean boot” starts Windows with a minimal set of drivers and startup programs so that you can determine whether a background program is interfering with your game or program.

    • In the search box on the taskbar, type MSConfig and select System Configuration from the results.
    • On the Services tab of System Configuration, select Hide all Microsoft services, and then select Disable all.
    • On the Startup tab of System Configuration, select Open Task Manager.
    • Under Startup in Task Manager, for each startup item, select the item and then select Disable.
    • Close Task Manager.
    • On the Startup tab of System Configuration, select OK. When you restart the computer, it's in a clean boot environment.

Let me know how it goes and I hope that helps.

Hey and thank you for the information. I did the first step and so far, its working like a charm. If it does continue again, ill be sure to do the other steps. Thank you very much, you were more helpful then Roblox themselves.
