Greetings, last year I assimilated my computer with Windows 10 Ameliorated*(only because MSFS2020 won't run on Windows 7, nor any virtual Win10)*. ********* (the hyperlink insert feature isn't working on this) Then recently I realized that the DVD Drives are not appearing under "This PC" which I renamed to "The Collective" after WinBorg 7 Ultimate & WinBorg XP. Then when I open the Device Manger, I can see that there's no driver installed for them. (the DVD/CD-ROM drives is expanded with the two devices under and has the little icon with the yellow triangle and Exclamation mark(!).
The Device Status has:

Also I recently checked the SATA cable connection on the Motherboard, and it was connected... though I moved it to one of the two that the HDD's are not connected to. Can probably move it back, but that won't cause the driver to be installed.
Windows Update has been removed on Win10AME(it's an open "back door"), so there's no automatic searching on the interweb for the drivers.
Also the USB DVD Drive can be connected to a stock Windows 10, which I have running in VMWare Workstation, and it works on there. Though it has a different name on there, so I don't know if the driver in the guest OS would work on the host system.
In addition to make matters more confusing, I've received conflicting comments from both Microsoft and LG support agents
A Microsoft Live Chat agent said this morning:
I really wanted to help you with the drivers but the drivers are provided by the manufacturer only as they have manufactured the device and the drivers are provided by the manufacturer to keep the hardware running with the OS and software. Windows do have Windows update service which can directly connect with LG services and try to download the latest updated drivers provided by them, if that doesn't works then we require to manually download and install the drivers.
Also an LG Support agent on WhatsApp told me yesterday:
Upon checking on our system we don't have the drivers for this unit and only microsoft can provide it for you.
And I also called LG Support today, and a bloke there told me that they don't have drivers for the DVD Drives, and that the OS automatically installs the drivers for them.
And it's true, that the LG Support website does not have any drivers... only firmware updates. So where are the drivers originating from?
Plus the Windows 10 Ameliorated Developers claim that this has nothing to do with "AME" (Windows 10 Ameliorated).
And said, "Here's a last resort for you, simply backup and restore the drivers from your vanilla Windows 10 into AME: ********** "
Although as stated above, I don't know if virtual OS drivers would work on the host OS.
Thank you.
