Forced BIOS update

HP just forced a BIOS update on my computer. I didn't ask for it. It just suddenly started updating BIOS when I restarted the computer. When it finished updating, I got an error message saying the Trusted Platform Module malfunctioned. It have me 2 options, a yes and a no. I chose "No." Now I get this error message everytime I start the computer.

At that point, my login PIN would not work. So I had to reset my PIN which makes no sense. It logged back in just fine after resetting the pin, however some things are acting unusual. The sound, audio quality seems to have changed and the display seems kind of unusual. There is also an attention or error alert next to the C:\ drive which I posted a screengrab here.

I wish HP would have given me the option to update BIOS and not just automatically do it on it's own without asking.

I'm mostly concerned about the way Windows is acting. Any idea what happened here, and what I can do to fix it?

Hi, I'm Elise, and I'd be happy to help with your issue.

The icon on your disk drive is showing a Bitlocker error, I would suggest disabling Bitlocker and then re-enabling if still needed.

With the audio visual issues, it may be that drivers were updated at the same time as the BIOS, if you check the HP support assistance there may be further updates which resolve this.

Please let me know if you need any further assistance.

    Kind Regards,

    Elise
