Dual Monitors not extending - Windows 10

Hi! I have a Samsung Curved Gaming Monitor and a HP Office Monitor. I plan to connect both of these monitors to my pc so i can have a dual monitor setup. I've tried countless cables, splitters and multiple test monitors and all my pc wants to do is duplicate and not extend. When i press "Detect Multiple Displays" it tells me that there isn't any and therefore doesn't give me any of the multiple display options. I've been told that this is an OS issue and i would love some assistance. My pc is from PC Specialist with a NVIDIA Geforce GTX 1660 super graphics card and i run Windows 10. Would love any assistance!

Hello, I'm Jan and I'm happy to help you today. I'm sorry that you are experiencing this problem with your computer. If you are using a splitter, the only option is to duplicate screens since the same signal will be fed to both screens/monitors.

Both monitors should be plugged directly into the Graphics card output, but if there is only one display port. Plug the other monitor using a USB to display/HDMI adapter.

It is not possible to use extended view with a splitter. This can only be done with 2 separate video outputs. If your computer is a desktop you can install a video board with multiple outputs. If it is a laptop you would have to use a USB video adapter.

    Hi Jerico,

i've tried doing both these things multiple times now. I just did it again, and it said that i have the best version available. I then rolled-back my driver , and it still did not seem to connect my two monitors to extend. They are still only duplicating and my pc still only picks up one monitor that is connected.

I'm using a splitter to connect both my monitors to my pc as i only have one display port and no other ports connect my two monitors. If you have any other ideas, i am willing to try!

    Thank you.
