Hello,

I am usually launching my apps from desktop icons. Now I want to use my device as a tablet.
Though when I switch to tablet mode I find no way to access the desktop. Is there any?

There is an archieved similar question, but none of the solutions work anymore:

I guess what could be important for you is the use of the on-screen keyboard

i'd link the app "On-screen Keyboard" to the taskbar and just use "non Tablet-Mode" works fine with most well sized tablets, and with this workaround you don't miss out on the on-screen keyboard

Hi Stefan, sadly access to the desktop is not available in Tablet mode. You could find a solution here:

    Hi there,

Desktop is turned off by default in tablet mode, meaning there is no desktop unlike that you see on a traditional PC. When the tablet mode is turned on, you won’t be able to access the desktop as well as icons on the desktop.

Desktop tile is unnecessary because Windows 10 is now utilizing the Start button. The workaround would be to Press and hold the start button. A menu will appear that offers 'Desktop' as the lower most option.

    Hope this resolves your Query!!

Yes, the desktop mode actually is not bad when using the device as a tablet. And the only issue I noticed yet is that the onscreen keyboard is not coming up sometimes (that is actually the same in both modes). Creating a link to the keyboard looks like a good solution.

Showing the desktop files in explorer only shows the files in the User\Desktop folder, but not the files in All Users\Desktop. So I would have to open two folders.
