Why can't I find my downloads folder?

In my computer, when I download a new file for something, it goes straight to my Hard Drive (H:). Under Quick Access, and under This PC, there isn't a "Downloads" folder. All the downloads are straight to my H: drive.

Is there any way to change this? I want downloads to be stored on my H: drive, but I want it to be its own folder under quick access and This PC.

    Hi FoxUnicorn21,

I'm Rodrigo and I will help you.

Did you change your Downloads folder location to H:?

The procedure was not done correctly and you merged Downloads to the root of H:.

First, create a Downloads folder under H:.

On the Start Menu, type regedit and press enter.

On the Registry Editor, go to the following key (you can copy and paste on the address bar):

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders

    You will see this:

On the right side of the window, double-click these 2 values circled in red and change the value data to H:\Downloads

Restart the computer to apply the changes.

After the restart, your Downloads will go to H:\Downloads, you will need to manually move the files to the location, and check the browser settings if it is pointing the downloads to the correct folder.
