My PC has an error with \windows\system32\winload.efi (0xc000007b)

Every time I try to start my PC it shows a blue screen

"Recovery"

Your PC needs repair

The application or operating system cannot be loaded because a required file is missing or contains errors

File: \windows\system32\winload.efi

Error code: 0xc000007b

You will need to use recovery tools. if you do not have any installation media (such as a disc or usb device) contact your subcomputer's administrator or computer/device manufacturer.

Press enter to try again

Press F1 to enter the recovery environment

Press F8 for Startup settings

Press Esc for UEFI hardware settings

How can I fix this error?

    Thanks for your feedback,

    When I press F1 it says error code 0xc0000098

    And file \BCD

    Hi,

    first off try this:

    On the error screen, hit F1.

    Select Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup repair.

    That indicates a bigger problem then...

    Do you have a Windows install media?

    It is probably a USB thumb drive that came with your PC (Some PCs also don't come with one).

    If you don't have one, you can create one like this: LightJack - Creating a Windows installation media (google.com)

    Using that, we can try to make Windows bootable again.

    If we don't succeed, we will probably have to reinstall and therefore reset Windows though.
