You can try it I upgraded to many computers to windows 11 which is very old and it never give me any issue after upgrading.
Old Pentium Dual-Core CPU T4300 @ 2.10GHz is not on win11 list, but also not on Win10 21H2 and runs well
I know I can force upgrade to win11, but don't want to if machine will start crashing. I never received any warning or had problems when upgrading to or updating win10, so I'm confused. Thanks

I am Dave, I will help you with this.
The Pentium Dual-Core CPU T4300 is an Intel processor from 2009, while it is possible to install Windows 11 on that processor using the registry edit that Microsoft provides, honestly, your processor is too old to install Windows 11 onto and would not support the security requirements for Windows 11.
I have updated some PC's to Windows 11 on unsupported processors, but I have only done that on 5th, 6th and 7th gen Intel processors from 2015 onwards, and Windows 11 woks perfectly on them, but I doubt that would be safe to do on the Pentium T4300 processor.

2023-01-15T19:10:02+00:00 Hey, thanks for the input. I agree that an upgrade might work out, but that machine has already lived longer than it should have, so I decided to not push my luck.

2023-01-15T15:09:11+00:00 Thanks so much for your speedy and thorough reply. I know that's an old CPU inside an equally old laptop, but with a SS drive and gigabyte internet, it clicks along amazingly well. I don't know why it runs so well on an unsupported OS, but knowing that wouldn't change the fact that it's running on borrowed time or lessen the importance of advanced security. Altho I have serious difficulty throwing away anything that still works (even poorly), I love buying new "toys", plus I'll have fun scrapping it out, so I'll get over it.
Thanks again, I trust your opinion.
