Hi,

I am trying to update my WiFi driver without internet connection as I cannot access the internet and have no option for wifi. I have the MediaTek Wi-Fi 6E MT7922 160MHz Wireless LAN Card and I have been trying to update it. I went to advanced settings and found 3 driver updates needed, which are

  1. MediaTek, Inc. - Net - 3.3.2.622
  2. ASUSTek Computer Inc. - System - 1.0.0.22
  3. ASUSTek COMPUTER INC. - Firmware - 10.1.2.317

I have went on to another laptop, downloaded 3.3.2.622 from the microsoft catalog, moved the .cab file to a flash drive, moved the file to my current laptop and extracted the files to a new folder. I then went into device manager, found the wifi card, clicked update driver and then browsed the computer for the files, selecting the folder that held everything I extracted. When I do that, it tells me I have the best driver for my device.

I then restarted the device manager process and this time selected "let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer" and selected 3.3.2.662 and it starts to update, but then I get met with an error code 10 that says "windows found drivers for your device but encountered an error while attempting to install them".

I have also tried to install the .cab file from command prompt with running it as an administrator but it tells me the command dism isn't an option.

Have you tried to check the wlan driver from the manufacturer's website directly? Try to download that from the other laptop, transfer it, and then install it. See if that helps.

    Hi Zadee,

After making this post, I did try to do a restore point and it took me back to 1/3/2023. However, that did not fix my driver issue and I still cannot access the internet, nor update my drivers

Thanks for reaching out! My name is, Zadee. I'm an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft user like you. I'll be glad to help you today.

If there were no changes done and the issue just suddenly happened, what is to check the Restore Point in the computer. This just saves you time as this allows your computer to go back to a point in time where the issue has not happened yet. To check your system restore point, follow this:

-On your keyboard press Win + R. This opens up the run box

    -Type: rstrui, press enter

-Select the restore point date prior to the day the issue occurred

    -Hit next, then Finish

-Wait for the restoration to finish

    Best Regards,
