Star Stable Online Installer always is stuck on ca. 60-64%. What can I do?

Hello,

The Star Stable Online Launcher always gets stuck during the installation. I let it install while I was outside and it was about 5 hours at the same percentage. I also noticed that the network usage of star stable online is suddenly at 0% when it comes to the percentage where it does not do anything anymore. Also the CPU usage decreases at this percentage.

I redownloaded and reinstalled the launcher multiple times, tried to install Windows 10 (I had Windows 11 before), redownloaded and reinstalled the launcher again multiple times but it did not work.

I deleted all files of star stable that I was able to find ( "C:\Programms (x86)\Star Stable Online", "C:\Users\name\AppData\Roaming\Star Stable Online" and "C:\Users\name\AppData\Local\starstableonline-updater") after uninstalling the launcher.

I tried to use CCleaner and rebootet Windows after deinstalling. But it did not helped.

According to Avast Firewall Star Stable Online has downloaded 3GB. I tried to allow all network traffic for star stable (before it was smart mode) but it did not helped too. (I put the general rule back to smart mode).

I checked if there are limitations for metered connections in the settings but I there are no limitations. Also I am not using a metered connection - I am using Wlan.

I searched the registry after deinstalling the game, deleting the SSO files and using CCleaner and found some entrys from Star Stable Online. Would it be helpful to delete them? And is there a program that would do this for me?

I also checked all drivers for updates and did all updates that was available.

I have written to the star stable online support but they told me to reinstall the launcher and deleting the files of sso after deinstalling sso.

Does anyone have an idea what I can do?

    Hello, Annika.

    Welcome to Microsoft community.

If everything you've tried doesn't work, the only thing to worry about is the network itself. You can either switch to a better network or try to connect to a mobile hotspot.

If there is anything not clear, please do not hesitate to let me know.

    Hello,

    Thank you very much!

It also does not work if I do a clean boot. The installer just gets stuck somewhere between 40-70% if I do a clean boot. With a normal boot it got stuck somewhere between 59-64%.

Except of that everything is the same.

I asked the Star Stable Online support three times but they just told me how to deinstall, remove the files of the game and then install the game launcher again... I have done this for about 20 times now. I do not think it work. Maybe it's my internet connection or the installer is broke. I dont know. But the internet connection probably would be stuck on every time other percentages? I cannot use wlan while the game is installing because it is too slow than. Maybe I will try to install it at a place with better internet.

    Best regards,

    Annika

    Hello, Annika.

    Welcome to Microsoft community.

Through your description, I assumed that the problem may exist in the Non-Microsoft product Star Stable Online Installer.

Here is my insight. I recommend you can use Clean Bootto fix the problem. **** Click the link and find more operational details.

Disclaimer: A “clean boot” starts Windows with a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. It helps to determine whether a background program is interfering with your game or program and to isolate the cause of a problem.

These steps of "clean boot" might look complicated at first glance. However, to avoid any trouble for you, please follow them in order and step-by step so that it will help you get you back on track.

Due to Star Stable Online is the third-party software, and it is out of MS support, if Clean Boot cannot help you to solve the issue, the service from the third-party software is the best way to get the helps.

If there is anything not clear, please do not hesitate to let me know.
