Chaning refresh rate lowers resolution

Whenever I try to switch the refresh rate in my display settings from 60hz to anything else the resolution is immediately lowered quite a lot for my entire pc. It isn't like the higher you make the refresh rate, the lower the resolution is either; 85hz and 144hz are identically low resolution. I haven't found anyone with the same problem on the internet, so any help would be appreciated. My monitor is the asus VG248QG and my graphics card is a GeForce 1060 3GB.

    Hi ,Пламен.

I am Ivan, I will help you with this.

I had a similar problem and the problem was the HDMI cable, I used the DP cable and if it was resolved, I increased the resolution in the NVIDIA settings.
