Hi , I just bought a new computer and I found a weird error . It has windows 11 pro install and I have the latest version .

I have a lot of usb port , and two in the front . One work but the other can't eject my external hard drive . Let me explain . On the second usb port , it work perfectly but I don't have ANY option to eject the hard drive . The icon in the taskbar , the eject option in the window of the hard drive , right click on the name of the HDD , even in the creation of drive , there are not eject option !!!!! But on the other port it work . Also I have this error only with External Hard drive , when I plug an usb , I have an eject option when the usb open in a new window on the topbar .

This error drive me crazy and I hope you will be able to help me .

Hi Yukina. I'm Greg, here to help you with this.

I understand one USB port on your PC won't Safely Remove. Here are some fixes to try for that:

    1. The default for USB storage removal in Windows 10 and 11 is no longer Safely Remove. See if yours is set like you want here:

    1. Try all these fixes for USB dysfunction in Windows 10 and 11:

Feel free to ask back any questions. Based on the detailed results you post back, I will have other suggestions if necessary.
