My fan was loud last night like a motor i think dust went in it. I tried cleaning the fan with balloon pump it worked the noise wasn't like a motor anymore but the fan is still spinning whenever i turn it on and it doesn't stop unless I turn my laptop off. What do I do?

"I tried cleaning the fan with balloon pump"

    • The fan is just one cooling component. To properly clean your machine you need to open it

and clean out all the dust, especially from the coolers fins.

If you are not using one already, a 'cooling pad' will also help cooling efficiency if the air intakes are on the bottom of your machine.

    Hi trishaZC,

Thank you for that information, in that case the fans should not constantly be on.

Open Task Manager, then select the Processes tab, is the CPU, RAM or GPU at a very high percentage when the fans are running constantly?

    Hi trishaZC,

I am Dave, I will help you with this.

Open the old Control Panel, not the Settings app

At the top of the old Control Panel, set View to icons.

Open Power Options in the old Control Panel

What Power Plan is set there, is it the Balanced power plan?
