Windows 11 pro OEM DVD

I am building my own desktop PC and purchased the Windows 11 Pro OEM DVD.

However, reading the Licence Agreement (yes, this tiny print outside the package) I am not sure if I can use this product. The information provided is quite confusing.

It would be greatly appreciated if anyone could shade some light to my confusion.

Kind regards,

George

    Hi Luiz,

    Thanks for your response.

    This is at the back of the package:

    The reference link takes me to the "Device Partner Center".

    This is at the front of the package:

    My understanding is that this product is for business or professionals who build systems and sell them to the end users.

    What I knew about OEM products, was that they are associated with the motherboard (as Palcouk mentioned) and they were available to end users. I have done this before (two decades ago was my last desktop build, since then I purchase laptops which come with preinstalled OS).

    My confusion is regarding the legality of using this product and if the installation procedure is the standard windows installation procedure.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    An OEM version is licensed for the first PC it is used on and cannot be transfered to a new PC, the install/license is associated with the mobo and if the mobo is changed the license is lost

    In theory the licence is granted for system builders who will then sell the device along with the OEM licence. It's not for a user to buy (at a lower price) and then use the device themselves.

    The install process will be no different to installing Windows 10 generally, it's the terms of the licence.

    Dear Skantzo,from what I could understand is exactly what you said;

    This product appears to be only for companies or professionals who build the system so that it can be sold to users;

    If you want to purchase a product key for Windows, go to the Microsoft Store:

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/d/windows-11-pr...

    Hope this helps, see you soon!
