Most of the Internet is now encrypted, and XP does not support the versions of TLS required to browse the Internet.

Windows XP came with IE8 as the browser and could bot be upgraded to a later version.

IE8 is both unsafe and not supported by most websites.

    What browsers are you using?

I highly doubt anyone knows anymore as Windows XP ended so long ago now.

You should make sure it has a networking driver installed. Its possible that you need to manually install one from the manufacturer if they still offer one today. They might not. If they don't then could try the wayback machine or whatever. What you do from there is a last ditch effort.

If the driver and hardware were working fine then a coincidence would have happened and is not with the computer. Of course, you could try factory resetting the router if you can set it back up should it require manual set up.
