Hi so my windows 10 pc has not had an update since December of 2020 and it is currently on the version "1909" and it is starting to not let me install certain apps because my computer has not been updated, and I have tried to update 11my computer many times but I just have the error code of "Your device is missing important security and quality fixes." and it will not let me go from there. I have tried uninstalling the update but that did not work it wouldn't even let me uninstall it.

Any help?

Hi, my name is Kelly, and I'm an independent consultant and I'm here to help.

It sounds like your computer may be experiencing issues with Windows Update. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue:

Check your internet connection: Make sure your computer is connected to the internet and that there are no issues with your connection.

Run the Windows Update Troubleshooter: Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters > Windows Update and run the troubleshooter. This can help detect and fix common Windows Update issues.

Clear the Windows Update cache: Press Windows key + R, type "services.msc" and press Enter. In the Services window, scroll down to "Windows Update", right-click on it and select "Stop". Then, go to C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download and delete all the files and folders inside. Return to the Services window, right-click on "Windows Update" again and select "Start".

Manually download and install the latest updates: Go to the Microsoft Update Catalog website, search for the latest updates for your version of Windows, download them and install them manually.

Perform a clean boot: Temporarily disable all third-party applications and services that may be interfering with the update process. To do this, open Task Manager, go to the "Startup" tab, and disable all non-Microsoft applications. Then, go to Services, hide all Microsoft services, and disable the remaining services. Restart your computer and try to update again.

If none of these steps work, you may need to consider performing a clean install of Windows 10. However, be sure to back up all your important files and data before doing so.
