Where is my DVD player? Or better yet, how do I start a CD?

This is a question I do not wish to ask as I do not wish to admit my lack of memory due to a combination of specific medications and as all who follow me know, I have been using Windows and Office and heavily constructed PCs with all that was available at the time of construct. I am having sound issues having downloaded and installed FXSound and, no sound. I should clarify that my system is a desktop with a tower CPU. While working on this issue of no sound with this new system in the PC, I decided that if I could put a CD into the player and turn it on and allow to run while I went forward trying various tactics according to FXSound directions, I could then get the sound I am looking for. So I opened the CD player, you know, that place where the elderly lady thought was a coffee holder, placed a CD into it and closed it. Now I bought this system in 2016 and have never once used the CD/DVD player because I have a rather nicely constructed sound system employing studio monitors rather than loud speakers. Many folks do not realize that even the most sophisticated speakers are merely loud speakers. Thus I decided rather than using loud speakers I would rather have studio monitors which are commonly found in sound studios and deliver much better sound. Thus, seldom do I use the CD/DVD player in my PC, obviously since I do not even know how to begin play on this particular one because with previous systems all I had to do was place the CD/DVD disks in the player and close it and it automatically immediately began playing. Not so with this system, so . . . ? I am sure someone will ask, "if you never use the PC CD/DVD player why download this new sound system"? I want to allow my wife to be able at certain times to watch whatever she wishes (chick movies) that I do not care to watch and thought I could download this new sound system and use the headphones and crank the volume as I love to do and to date have not blown my hearing out into space.

    Hi,

im So sorry you see this issue,To start a CD on your desktop PC with a tower CPU, you may need to open the media player software on your system and use it to play the CD. Some common media player software options include Windows Media Player, VLC, and iTunes. You can typically find these programs in the Start menu or by searching for them in the search bar. Once you have opened the media player software, insert the CD into the CD/DVD player, and click on the "Play" or "Open" button to start the CD.

If the CD does not start automatically, you may need to go to the "File" or "Open" menu and select the CD drive to manually start the CD. If you continue to have issues playing the CD, I would recommend checking the CD for any physical damage or trying a different CD to see if that resolves the issue.

If you're still unable to play the CD, you may want to reach out to the manufacturer of your computer or the media player software for further assistance.

I hope this information is helpful in resolving your issue.

Let me know if you have any questions and I am happy to answer!
