Hi,

I have an asus va24dq monitor and a lenovo yoga 730 laptop and had no problems for about 6 months but then suddenly my laptop won't detect my monitor. I have checked the HDMI cable (and bought multiple new ones), checked that my laptop connects to other screens (like my TV and on the big monitors in my classroom), checked that my monitor connects to my PS4 and digibox. They just won't detect each other. When I go to force detect, the monitor won't show.

I have tried to update my system and graphics drives, everything is up to date.

Please help, I need my second monitor to work effectively from home.

Hello, I'm Felipe and I'm an independent Community Advisor, and I'll do my best to help you.

The best way to troubleshoot this issue is to check if your laptop has the necessary ports for your monitor. For example, if your laptop does not have an HDMI port, you may need to use a different type of cable to connect the monitor. If your laptop does have the necessary ports, you should check if the ports are working correctly. You can do this by connecting your laptop to another device and making sure the connection is successful.

If the ports are working correctly, you may need to update your display drivers. Display drivers are essential for your laptop to detect external monitors, as they control how your laptop interacts with the display. You should check the drivers section of your laptop's website and make sure they are up to date.

If you're still having issues, you may want to reach out to the support team of the company that built your laptop. They may be able to provide more specific advice to help you fix this issue. Good luck
