Mouse Issue - Windows 11

Been using an Anker Ergonomic mouse for a few years. Lately I've been having an odd issue. I go into file explorer and let's say choose Document in the left pane. In the right pane I see my list of folder but it will not scroll. I have to click on a folder and then it will scroll. Same thing happens if I click Start/All Apps. I cannot scroll the list until I click something.

Very confused trying to figure out what started causing this and how to correct it. I see nothing in Mouse Setting that would fix it.

Thanks

Sorry for the late reply, I was just getting over Covid. I did the uninstall/restart and no change. Tried two different mice and no change. I also put new batteries in the mouse and moved the USB transceiver to a new USB with no change.

One thing I didn't notice before, When i try to scroll the right pane, the left pane scrolls instead.

Hi, I’m Nicole, I’ll be happy to help you out today.

The issue might be either the mouse driver or a glitch on Windows 11.

First, did you already test a different mouse on the system to check if the issue will still persist on that mouse?

Second, try to uninstall the mouse driver via the Device manager. Open device manager by right-clicking the Windows logo then click device manager.

Next, double-click Mice and other pointing devices to expand it. After expanding, right-click the mouse driver then click uninstall device.

Restart the system so Windows can reinstall the driver.

Update me on the results afterward.

    Thank you.
