How do I check my laptop RAID?

Recently, my CMOS battery died and I was going to replace it. However, I watched a video that explained what happens when CMOS batteries die, and it said just replace it and recover your settings. It also said if you have a RAID 1 or 5, it would be difficult to restore those settings.

How do I check which RAID I have, and is this true?

Also, why does HP manufactures reset files and data? (You don't have to answer it and I don't need to know.)

    Hi,

    R. Cord here, Independent Expert. Hope you are doing well.

o check your laptop's RAID configuration, you can try the following steps:

Reboot your laptop and enter the RAID configuration utility. The method for doing this varies depending on the manufacturer of your laptop's RAID controller, so consult your laptop's manual or do a web search to find out how to access the RAID configuration utility.

Once you're in the RAID configuration utility, you should be able to see the current RAID configuration of your laptop. This should tell you whether you have RAID 1 or RAID 5, as well as other information such as the size of the RAID array and the status of each disk.

Take note of your RAID configuration, as you may need this information if you need to recover your data in the future.

As for the claim that it would be difficult to restore RAID settings if the CMOS battery dies, it's partially true. While replacing the CMOS battery should not affect the RAID configuration itself, it may cause the system to forget the RAID configuration, which could make it difficult to access your data. In this case, you may need to reconfigure the RAID and restore the data from a backup.

Regarding HP manufacturing reset files and data, I'm not exactly sure.

    With best regards,

    R. Cord
