Recent Folders is Missing in Windows 11

Hi There,

I recently upgraded to Windows 11 but the "Recent Folders" link doesn't show up in Quick Access. Here is a pic:

Also, as you will notice, the Frequent Folders is missing from the left bar. I don't like Frequent Folders -- prefer Recent -- but am simply pointing this out. Since upgrading, the Quick Qccess area has never shown up on the left, only in the right panel. Odd. And not useful. I've had to dowload some software and make some regedits to get the old ribbon back but things are still not as functional as they were with Windows 10.

Hope someone has some insights.

Thanks,

Nancy

There is "Recent items" - files & folders mixed together.

type the following in the adress bar and drag it to the left pane so you'll get it sticked from now on

    %AppData%\Microsoft\Windows\Recent\

if you prefer only recent folders, same process as above with the following string:

    shell:::{22877a6d-37a1-461a-91b0-dbda5aaebc99}

Copy the command shell:::{22877a6d-37a1-461a-91b0-dbda5aaebc99} and paste it in the Start/Run dialog:

    Click OK.

This opens the "Recent folders" special folder.

Pin the folder to Quick access.

@Ramesh gave you here how to do it through the Run command.

You can also try the address bar as follows:

After pasting & before pressing Enter:

    After pressing Enter:

Now you drag it to be where you see it on the left

    Thank you!

The recent items shortcut is fabulous. Very very helpful. The "shell" string didn't work. Perhaps I am not using the correct syntax? I tried appending it to the first bit in a variety of ways but erros each time. Anyway, I'm happy with items since this includes folders as well. Not sure why this isn't more readily available to users but at least this works.

    Thanks again,

    Nancy

You can simply paste the same command in the address bar of the save/upload popping window, tap Enter and simply drag the "Recent" folder name to the left side wherewver you want to place it between two existing ones

I tried this a few times, but it doesn't seem to work. It opens Recent Folders but doesn't put it under 'Home' or in the Quick Access area if I click 'Pin to Quick Access.'
