I updated to windows 11 a while back. Then windows kept prompting me to shutdown and update so I did and now The navigation arrows that reveal the contents of folders in file explorer have disappeared completely. The only way to see the contents is to double click the folder.

I just figured how to do get this view back. Go to the Control Panel, and view by large icons instead of by category. You can then click on "File Explorer Options". In the next window, click on the view tab. Then scroll to the bottom to the Navigation pane setting and make sure 'Show all folders'.

You should now see the arrows in the left column.

I have the same issue. It is the documents folder that I want this feature to have. It makes moving files between folders much easier.

    Hi Zadee

Thank you for following up on my question. I'm referring to the left pane window on file explorer. Before the update my files would have recents and then below they wee all listed with a drop down arrow to their left that you could click and expand below showing all the files in an area such as documents and then if there were other folders in the documents folder with a left arrow you could click and drop down and see the files in that folder. This is no longer there. Only the recents which had documents, pictures, movies, etc pinned but no ability to drop down (which I know was never possible in recents anyway) but I could dbl click opening the Documents folder into the larger window to the right. Then I could see everything. but no way to preview what individual file I wanted to open in the left pane like before.

    Thank you

    Laura

Here is a screen shot. I'm referring to the far left panel. There is no way to find the folders with their drop down arrows.
