thanks, I can still get 2.5 years out of the unit so there's still life let in the unit and it does what I need it to do. Will probably get a new machine at some stage too.
Windows 10 Support Post October 2025
Good evening,
As others may have seen on a recent post by myself, I want to know what support, if any , is available for win 10 machines after updates stop being pushed out after Oct 2025. After mid Oct 2025 , do all win 10 machines effectively become obsolete and unusable ?
thanks,
Habib.

2023-02-07T21:45:28+00:00 It depends on your choice, but I would go for a new device because apart from the hardware it will have a new and better design, better cooling system, and probably a better display, keyboard, and touchpad. You can probably find a device with ssd. A gen 4 intel processor will be 11 years old by then and upgrading just cpu will not be a good decision in my opinion. And even if you replace the hardware mentioned above you will have heating issues with your device after the cpu upgrade because of the fans inside.
But the final decision is up to you

2023-02-06T21:05:50+00:00 Hello! My name is Mustafa, and I am an Independent Advisor as well as a long-time Microsoft user. I am hopeful that I will be able to help you find a satisfactory solution.
According to this article from Microsoft, the support for Windows 10 will end on 14th October 2025:
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/lifecycle/pro...
After the support ends it means that there aren't going to be any more updates for windows 10, you can get a free upgrade to windows 11 if you want.
Please let me know if this doesn't work or if you need further assistance.
Warm Regards,
Mustafa
