Windows 11 update stuck on 100% screen

It has been an hour now and my relatively new Huawei laptop has been stuck on the black screen, which says:

Updates are underway.

100% complete.

Please keep your computer on.

A little research says that I should turn my computer off and go into safe mode recovery. however, if I turn it off by holding down the power button for a few seconds, then when I turn it on again, I instantly get back to the same screen.

The actual download of the update took three or four minutes to get to this 100% screen.

I would appreciate any help on how to get out of this.

Thank you

Update complete and I am back in.

So solution not needed but I think it would be a very good place for people to go if patience is not the answer.

    Thanks again

    Scott

That is a much more helpful link than many of the responses that I have seen through my Internet searches.

I was about to try the suggestions and, after 90 minutes at 100% the screen has moved on!

We are now working on updates. Please keep your computer on. It has reached 8% and stopped again, but only a few minutes has passed.

It seems patience is a virtue. I will see how this goes and return if things don't work out, but I think it is going to be okay.

    Thank you.

    Scott.
