I keep getting threats detection from windows defender concerning this, I’ve already done full scans and quarantined them all, but it keeps coming back. Especially when I try to download chrome, it’s says the chromesetup.exe keep getting infected by it, but nothing like that happened when I downloaded malwarebyte’s adwcleaner. I need help please I’m using a windows 10pro HP EliteBook 840 G4

    Hi Marvellous Godwin,

I am Dave, I will help you with this.

Open File Explorer, then on the View menu at the top, temporarily turn on 'Hidden Items'.

Navigate to this folder: C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows Defender\Scans\History\Service

Delete the contents of that Service folder.

    Close File Explorer.

Open Defender and select the option to perform an offline scan, your PC will restart to perform that scan.

Then check if that malware list is clear.

Not work as the virus will restrict access to "scans" folder
