W, 2, f5, f6, f7, and f8 keys not working sometimes

I have an HP ENVY x360 15-cp0010ca with AMD Ryzen 7 2700U 1 TB HDD AMD Radeon RX Vega 10 and recently 16gb of upgraded ram (originally 8gb of ram). When playing games such as minecraft, astroneer, or black mesa, my W, 2, f5, f6, f7, and f8 keys stop working and I have to spam click the W, 2, f5, f6, f7, and f8 keys all at once until they start working again, and if one starts working, all the others start working. They only work for a limited time before they stop working and I have to spam click them again to get them working. But then for around maybe 24 hours even after I close the games, the W, 2, f5, f6, f7, and f8 keys still don't work and I have to keep on spam clicking to get them working. Eventually it goes away but it comes back every time I play those games. This has been happening since November 21st 2022. I do not think this is due to my recent ram upgrade because it has been happening before the ram upgrade (ram upgraded in January 2023). I have tried everything besides a factory reset. My windows is fully up to date and I have no required or optional updates available.

I have already tried:

  • Cleaning under the keys
  • Uninstalling and reinstalling keyboard driver
  • Updating the keyboard driver
  • Turning filter keys on and off
  • Restarting my laptop
  • Shutting down my laptop and turning it back on
  • Using the windows keyboard troubleshooter
  • Changing the windows preferred language
  • Removing, cleaning, and reinstalling the keyboard ribbon cable inside of the laptop
  • Adjusting my button mappings in games
  • Updating Windows
  • Spraying the inside of my laptop with canned air

I have not tried:

  • A factory reset
  • Replacing keyboard (I do not think I am able to replace the keyboard and it seems that it would be very difficult)

    Hello Michael, welcome to the Microsoft community, I'll be happy to help you today;

    I understand that some keys stop working;

    Have you tested a USB keyboard to see if the behavior is the same?

    Try downloading the HP SupportAssist app to update all PC drivers:

    https://support.hp.com/us-en/help/hp-support-as...

    Try manually installing the latest driver for the touchpad:

    https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp100501-101000/...

    Do a clean boot;

    Press the keys: Ctrl+Shift+Esc to access the task manager;

    Click Startup and disable all programs that start with Windows;

    Restart the PC and check if the problem persists;

    See you soon!

    I have tried all of these and none of these worked. The issue does not happen with a USB keyboard, but I would prefer to use the keyboard already on my laptop.
